Dude, you were in the wrong part of town. The waterfront is all glitz and glam. To find the real Singaporean hawker experience, you gotta venture a little further inland. Check out places like Tiong Bahru Market – it's a classic, tons of choices, and much more affordable. Or try Maxwell Food Centre – super popular and always buzzing. You'll find way more authentic and delicious cheap eats there. Seriously, it's a whole different world compared to the Marina Bay Sands area.

Yeah, I've heard similar things about the Value Hotel near Orchard Road. Air con issues seem to be a pretty common complaint, sadly. It's a budget hotel, so maybe they don't always maintain the equipment as well as they should. Could be just bad luck with your room, but it sounds pretty frustrating! Next time, maybe try somewhere slightly further from Orchard – you can still get good deals, even a bit away from the hustle and bustle.
