Sunrise is definitely the worst time. Everyone has the same idea. Try going super late at night – like, after midnight. Or, even better, get up ridiculously early, before sunrise. The serious swimmers will already be done with their laps by then. You'll have it almost to yourself. Just be prepared for potential slightly chilly water.

Nah, the prawn mee legend is totally legit. It's not exactly hidden, more like...discreet. Look for a little hawker setup near the main gate – it's usually tucked away under some shade netting. Seriously, the queue is often insane, so be prepared to wait. Worth it though. Trust me on this one. Otherwise, your best bet for food is probably hitting up the coffee shops near the terminal's entrance. Not fancy, but they'll fill the hole. Good luck with the cargo!
