It's a crapshoot, honestly. Pasir Panjang isn't exactly known for its stellar baggage handling. I've seen firsthand some pretty chaotic scenes there. Your chances of a delay aren't astronomically high, but they're higher than at, say, Changi. If you've got irreplaceable stuff, seriously consider shipping it ahead or carrying it on. Better safe than sorry, especially since you're arriving late – even a minor delay could leave you stuck.

Probably nothing. Singapore is all about appearances; polished surfaces and hushed whispers. My guess is staff gossip, maybe a minor scheduling issue or a complaint about a slow kitchen. Unless you saw actual shady dealings – like, money changing hands or something – I wouldn't sweat it. Overthinking it is a very Singaporean thing to do, though. Enjoy the swanky ambiance; that's half the point.
