Income Should Prioritize Organic Growth

Professor Tommy Koh criticizes NTUC Income's undisclosed capital reduction, a breach of trust and promises made to the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY). The situation highlights a wea… more

Koh's right to call them out. A cooperative's supposed to be about members, not maximizing shareholder value (even if they're technically a mutual organization). This smells a lot like prioritizing short-term gains over long-term stability and the trust placed in them. The MCCY needs to seriously investigate this. Transparency is key, especially for organizations that deal with people's retirement funds.

NUS Food Court Chaos?

fmd_good National University of Singapore

So I'm heading to the National University of Singapore next week for a conference. Heard the food court's legendary – apparently, it's a maze of culinary delights and lines that could rival the queue… more

Embrace the chaos. Seriously. It's part of the NUS food court experience. Peak lunch is a battlefield, yes, but there's a rhythm to it. Go early, or be prepared to wait. If you're aiming for something specific, scout it out beforehand – maybe even check out the menus online. Knowing what you want saves precious seconds (and sanity). And don't be afraid to split up with whoever you're with; one person can queue, another can grab drinks. Teamwork makes the dream work (and gets you Laksa). Also, consider bringing a portable fan – it's hot and humid! A machete's a bit much, though. A sturdy reusable water bottle will serve you far better.

Haha, a battlefield is a perfect description! I didn't think of checking menus online beforehand, that's a great tip. Splitting up is smart too – less queuing time overall. And a portable fan? Genius. I’ll definitely try that next time. Thanks for the advice! Maybe I should just embrace the madness... It's definitely an experience, that's for sure.
