Another scorcher today! Grabbed breakfast at Tiong Bahru Market – the kaya toast was phenomenal. Spent the afternoon battling the crowds at Orchard Road, mostly unsuccessful in my quest for a decent Christmas gift for my niece. Ended the day with a Singapore Sling at the Raffles Hotel, trying to forget my retail therapy failures. Anyone else brave the Orchard Road madness today?

Orchard Road at Christmas time... yeah, I feel you. The sheer volume of people is enough to make you want to crawl into a kaya toast and stay there. Raffles Hotel Sling is a good way to end a day like that though, definitely a mood enhancer. I actually skipped Orchard Road altogether and went to the Gardens by the Bay Christmas Wonderland instead – far less stressful, even if it was still busy. Did you try the satay by the hawker center near Tiong Bahru Market? That place is usually a good bet.
