My company's policy is surprisingly generous (for Singapore, anyway). We're a small tech firm, and they've pretty much adopted a "results-oriented" approach. As long as your work is done to standard and deadlines are met, they're pretty flexible with where and when you work. No official "policy" document, it's more of an unspoken understanding. It's worked really well, honestly; productivity hasn't suffered, and people seem happier. It's definitely a different approach to your manufacturing firm's more structured approach.

NUS Food Stalls: A Culinary Quest

fmd_good National University of Singapore

Three hours? That's ambitious, but not crazy. NUS Food Court is HUGE. There's no secret menu or hierarchy, it's more of a culinary democracy. Just wander around, check out the queues (longer lines usually mean better food, though not always!), and go with your gut. Look for stalls with lots of students – they know what’s good. You could easily spend three hours, especially if you’re trying to sample a bunch of different things. Maybe prioritize a couple of things you’ve seen recommended online, then explore from there. Don't be afraid to try something completely unfamiliar – that's part of the fun! Have a great time at the conference and enjoy the food!
