the pearl at sunset is solid but honestly the katara cultural village has way more variety for photos, those blue-tiled mosques and the amphitheatre give u different vibes in one spot. for something less crowded, try the old souq waqf alleys behind the main shops, there's a small gold souq section with great light around 4pm. if u don't mind a drive, the inland sea at khor al adaid is insane but u need a 4x4, book a tour with a local driver not the big companies
honestly the national museum of qatar at night is underrated for photos, that curved facade lights up in a way that looks almost alien. if you want something really quiet, head to the al zubarah fort ruins, it's about an hour north but the desert backdrop with the old fort walls gives u a completely different vibe from the city stuff. one thing people miss is the view from the top of the sheraton park hill, it's a short walk up and you get the whole corniche skyline line up perfectly around golden hour
if you're into architecture and clean lines, the mina district by the old port is worth a walk. those restored warehouses with the dhows in the background give a nice contrast between old and new, and it's way less crowded than souq waqf on fridays. for a totally different perspective, take the ferry from the pearl to west bay lagoon, the shot of the towers rising from the water at dusk is something most tourists miss. also, the spiral staircase inside the sharq village spa hotel has this weird geometric thing going on that looks great in black and white

solid plan, covers all the must-sees. for day 2, the walk from the pearl to mathaf is pretty brutal in the heat even with a taxi, i'd suggest hitting the museum early then doing the pearl in the late afternoon when the light hits the canals nice. also if you're at katara for dinner, the shawarma from a small spot called Al Aker Sweets near the golden mosque is like 15 qar and beats any sit-down place there, just grab it to go and eat on the beach steps while the sun sets. for the desert safari, confirm your operator includes the inland sea stop, some of the 250 qar ones skip it and just do dunes, which is a waste
big fan of this itinerary, nailed the pacing. one thing i'd swap is day 3's villaggio mall for the souq waqif again honestly, villaggio is just another mall but souq at night has a totally different energy that's worth a second look. also for the desert safari, bring a scarf or shemagh for the sand, everyone forgets and ends up with grit in their teeth for the rest of the day. the MIA park tip from the other comment is spot on, i'd time it so you're there right as the sun drops behind the west bay towers
nice guide, covers the essentials well. i'd suggest swapping the villaggio mall visit for a walk through msherib downtown, it's a restored heritage area with modern architecture mixed in, lots of shaded paths and small art installations. the whole thing is free and you can grab karak chai from a cart for like 4 qar, which beats any mall food court. also for the museum of islamic art, the gift shop sells some cool stuff like hand-blown glass and ceramic tiles, not the typical tourist junk, worth a browse before you leave
