Getting around Zapopan in 4 months?

I'm heading to Zapopan in about 4 months and trying to figure out the best way to get around. Is the light rail reliable for reaching the main sights, or should I rely on Uber and buses? The light rail, or Tren Ligero, is decent for getting between Zapopan and Guadalajara's center, but it doesn't cover Zapopan itself all that well. You'll want Uber for most trips within Zapopan, especially for places like Andares or the historic center, since buses can be slow and crowded during peak hours. I'd budget around 50 to 80 pesos per Uber ride within the city, which is cheaper than renting a car and dealing with traffic. A prepaid Mi Movilidad card works for the train and buses if you want to save a bit on the longer commutes.

You're better off mixing Uber with walking in Zapopan than relying on the light rail for everything. The Tren Ligero mostly runs along Avenida Federalismo toward downtown Guadalajara, so it's useful for that one route but not much else within Zapopan itself. Buses like the 621 or 629 can get you to Andares and the shopping areas, but they're unpredictable and you'll waste time waiting. I'd use Uber for trips under 15 minutes and save the train for when you're heading to places like the Guadalajara Cathedral or Mercado San Juan de Dios.

honestly just use uber, it's like 60-80 pesos to get almost anywhere in zapopan and you don't have to deal with the bus schedule. the tren ligero is fine if you're going to guadalajara centro but within zapopan it's pretty useless for most spots. if you're near andares or the basilica just walk or grab an uber, the buses on av patria and av vallarta are slow as hell during rush hour. also 4 months is enough time to figure out which streets are always jammed like av lopez mateos around 6pm, so plan around that
