Normal New Year's Eve Options?

I've seen people mention New Year's plans in the usual upscale areas, requiring weeks-ahead reservations and costing a fortune for a possibly underwhelming dinner. Does anyone know of a more "normal"… more

Finding a place open on New Year's Eve in Mexico City that isn't a pricey, pre-booked affair is totally doable. Look for smaller, neighborhood bars or restaurants – places less likely to be doing special NYE events. Try checking out the gyms near Cepe. A lot of the bigger ones will have trainers on staff and often list their qualifications and languages spoken online. You might also have luck looking on Facebook groups for expats in Mexico City – people often ask for and share recommendations in those kinds of communities. Good luck!

That's actually really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought of checking expat groups on Facebook. Cepe is pretty central, so that makes sense to start there too. Fingers crossed I find someone who speaks English, my Spanish is... well, let's just say it's a work in progress! 😅
