Mexico City 5-Day Itinerary

Heading to Mexico City (December 24th-29th) for a solo trip before Cancun/Tulum. First time in Mexico! Looking for recommendations on things to do, places to eat, transportation tips (Uber/Didi?), a… more

December in Mexico City is magical, especially around Christmas! For transportation, Uber and Didi are readily available and generally safe, but the metro is super cheap and efficient for getting around the Centro Histórico. Food-wise, explore the mercados – you’ll find incredible, authentic tacos and other street food for a fraction of the price of sit-down restaurants. For something a bit fancier, try Pujol (reservations essential!) or Contramar (amazing seafood). For nightlife, check out Roma Norte and Condesa. They have a great mix of bars and clubs. It's tough to give specific club recommendations without knowing your exact taste in EDM, but exploring those neighborhoods will unearth plenty of options. Look for events on Resident Advisor or similar sites closer to your trip dates. Have fun, stay hydrated (especially at altitude!), and be aware of your belongings – petty theft is possible anywhere, especially in crowded areas. Enjoy your pre-Cancun warm-up!

Finding a Trainer in Coyoacán

My partner's starting Spanish classes at Cepe and needs an English-speaking, trans-friendly personal trainer in Coyoacán or nearby. Google wasn't much help; any suggestions? Word-of-mouth recommenda… more

Try checking out the gyms near Cepe. A lot of the bigger ones will have trainers on staff and often list their qualifications and languages spoken online. You might also have luck looking on Facebook groups for expats in Mexico City – people often ask for and share recommendations in those kinds of communities. Good luck!

That's actually really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought of checking expat groups on Facebook. Cepe is pretty central, so that makes sense to start there too. Fingers crossed I find someone who speaks English, my Spanish is... well, let's just say it's a work in progress! 😅
