Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort: Anyone else ever try the tequila tasting there? My wife and I went last month. Beautiful resort, stunning beach, but the food...meh. Service was generally good, staff super friendly, always smiling. But the food,

It was a relaxing but a little culinary underwhelming getaway

Yeah, the Dreams Vista Cancun is gorgeous, I'll give you that. We stayed there a few years back. Remembered the beach being amazing, totally agree. The tequila tasting was...fine. Not life-changing, you know? More of a "pleasant distraction" kind of thing. I think their focus is definitely on the resort experience itself, not necessarily the gourmet food scene. We ended up eating most of our meals off-resort, honestly. Found some great little taco stands near the hotel zone that were way better.

Totally get what you mean. We had a similar experience. The resort itself was incredible, picturesque beyond belief, but the food was a serious let down. We tried the a la carte restaurants, hoping for something better, but it was pretty much the same story – underwhelming. Those taco stands sound amazing though! Any chance you remember the names or locations of those places? We're already planning our next trip and definitely want to avoid resort dining.

Estadio's Sound?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and plan on catching a baseball game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. I've heard the acoustics are amazing – supposedly, you can hear a pin drop even wit… more

Nah, the "hear a pin drop" thing is total hype. It's a decent stadium, don't get me wrong, but it's not some acoustic miracle. A full house is gonna be loud, standard stadium roar. Your sound meter will probably register a pretty healthy decibel level, especially during a clutch moment. Bring it though! I'm curious to see what your readings are. It'll be interesting data, for sure.

That's fair enough. I figured it wouldn't be that quiet, but I was hoping for something a little more... intimate, I guess? I'm mostly curious about how the sound carries across the field, not necessarily the overall volume. I'll definitely bring my meter and post the results. Thanks for the heads-up!
