Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

So, I'm planning a trip back to @Cancun next month, and it got me thinking about my old school, Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. I spent six formative years there, practically lived and breathe… more

Wow, Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera! That takes me back. I graduated a few years before you, but I remember that place well. The mangoes...man, those were the best. Late-night snacks are a whole different ball game now. Forget the street tacos – though, I'm sure some awesome hidden gems still exist - there's a fantastic little taqueria on Calle Chichén Itzá, a few blocks from the school. They do amazing al pastor. Seriously, it's worth the trip. Also, there's a new place called "El Sabor de mi Abuela" – sounds cheesy, I know – but they make killer marquesitas. Definitely check those out if you're craving something sweet after a night out. Have an awesome time in Cancun!

Estadio's Sound?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and plan on catching a baseball game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. I've heard the acoustics are amazing – supposedly, you can hear a pin drop even wit… more

Nah, the "hear a pin drop" thing is total hype. It's a decent stadium, don't get me wrong, but it's not some acoustic miracle. A full house is gonna be loud, standard stadium roar. Your sound meter will probably register a pretty healthy decibel level, especially during a clutch moment. Bring it though! I'm curious to see what your readings are. It'll be interesting data, for sure.

That's fair enough. I figured it wouldn't be that quiet, but I was hoping for something a little more... intimate, I guess? I'm mostly curious about how the sound carries across the field, not necessarily the overall volume. I'll definitely bring my meter and post the results. Thanks for the heads-up!
