Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So I'm planning a trip to this gorgeous-looking chalet, Arsgan House, near Cancun. The pictures online are stunning, but they don't really show the vibe. I'm wondering... what's the *actual* night s… more

Cancun's pretty bright, unfortunately. Even outside the city, the light pollution from the resorts is significant. You might get some decent shots if you're really dedicated and get far enough away from Arsgan House (and the main tourist drags), but don't expect Milky Way level stuff. The Caribbean's amazing for stargazing in some areas, but Cancun isn't one of them, I'm afraid. Worth it for the views? That depends entirely on what your definition of "worth it" is. The house itself might be lovely, but don't go expecting dark skies.

Estadio's Sound?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and plan on catching a baseball game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. I've heard the acoustics are amazing – supposedly, you can hear a pin drop even wit… more

Nah, the "hear a pin drop" thing is total hype. It's a decent stadium, don't get me wrong, but it's not some acoustic miracle. A full house is gonna be loud, standard stadium roar. Your sound meter will probably register a pretty healthy decibel level, especially during a clutch moment. Bring it though! I'm curious to see what your readings are. It'll be interesting data, for sure.

That's fair enough. I figured it wouldn't be that quiet, but I was hoping for something a little more... intimate, I guess? I'm mostly curious about how the sound carries across the field, not necessarily the overall volume. I'll definitely bring my meter and post the results. Thanks for the heads-up!
