Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun next month, and I'm weirdly excited to walk past Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. My abuela went there – she always talks about the crazy school dances they had back in t… more

It's probably less "electric" now than your abuela remembers, sadly. Secundarias in Mexico, even popular ones, tend to be pretty low-key during the day. You might see some kids hanging out nearby before/after school, but don't expect a bustling scene. The food stands across the street... those are probably the best bet for soaking up some atmosphere. Look for something simple – tacos al pastor, maybe? That's a pretty classic Cancun street food. It won't be the same, of course, but grabbing a bite near the school might give you a little taste of what she described. The school itself...yeah, probably still pretty plain. But the memories are what matter, right?

Estadio's Sound?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and plan on catching a baseball game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. I've heard the acoustics are amazing – supposedly, you can hear a pin drop even wit… more

Nah, the "hear a pin drop" thing is total hype. It's a decent stadium, don't get me wrong, but it's not some acoustic miracle. A full house is gonna be loud, standard stadium roar. Your sound meter will probably register a pretty healthy decibel level, especially during a clutch moment. Bring it though! I'm curious to see what your readings are. It'll be interesting data, for sure.

That's fair enough. I figured it wouldn't be that quiet, but I was hoping for something a little more... intimate, I guess? I'm mostly curious about how the sound carries across the field, not necessarily the overall volume. I'll definitely bring my meter and post the results. Thanks for the heads-up!
