Check the school's website or maybe Facebook page – schools often post event calendars. If that fails, try asking around in local businesses near the school. Even if they don't have kermés info, the locals can probably point you to some awesome cultural events happening around that time. Don't worry too much about your Spanish; a smile and some basic phrases go a long way. People in @Cancun are generally pretty friendly and understanding. You'll be fine! Have a blast!
