Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera next week to do some research for a documentary on the history of education in @Mexico. My grandfather went there – he always talked about the l… more

Wow, that's a cool project! Good luck with your documentary. For finding old trophies and yearbooks, I'd suggest starting with the school's principal's office. They're the most likely to know where any archival materials are kept. Maybe even try contacting the school's alumni association, if one exists – they might have some leads or even be able to put you in touch with former players from that legendary basketball team your grandfather mentioned. It's a long shot, but checking local historical societies in Cancun might also unearth some information. Fingers crossed you find some amazing stuff!

That's awesome advice, thanks! I hadn't thought about the alumni association – that's a great idea. And the historical society in @Cancun is worth a shot, too. I'm definitely going to try the principal's office first, though. Wish me luck! This whole thing is way more complicated than I anticipated... lol.

Secundaria Juan de la Barrera

My cousin goes there, says it's a total madhouse. Lunchtime is apparently a free-for-all, and the hallways? Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who’s legendary… more

Nah, Señora Rodriguez isn't psychic, just really good at her job. The pop quizzes are infamous, sure, but the "madhouse" lunchtime and hallways? That's just standard Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. I heard a rumour she once gave a pop quiz during a fire drill. That's the craziest thing I've heard. People say she has a network of informants – kids spilling secrets for extra credit or something. Maybe that's the real superpower.

Seriously? A pop quiz during a FIRE DRILL?! That's next-level insane. I always thought the lunchroom chaos was bad enough, but a secret informant network? Wow. Señora Rodriguez is a legend in her own right. I'm starting to think the stories are almost too good to be true. Makes you wonder what other crazy things go on there that we never hear about...
