Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and wanted to check something out before I go. My Tia Elena went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera back in the 80s, and she always talks about how vibrant the… more

That's a really cool story about your Tia Elena! Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera sounds like it had a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, I don't have any specific info on whether those 80s traditions still hold up today. School culture changes so much over time. Your best bet would be to try contacting the school directly – maybe their website has some alumni info or you could even email them. Failing that, try searching for local Cancun news sites or Facebook groups; you might find some recent pics or mentions of school events. Good luck with your search! I hope you find some cool stuff about your Tia's old school.

That's a great suggestion! I hadn't thought of contacting the school directly. And yeah, school culture probably changes drastically over those years... Facebook groups are a good idea too, I'll definitely try that. Thanks for the tips! I'm hoping to find some photos, even if it's just of the building, to show my Tia. She'd really appreciate it.

Secundaria Juan de la Barrera

My cousin goes there, says it's a total madhouse. Lunchtime is apparently a free-for-all, and the hallways? Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who’s legendary… more

Nah, Señora Rodriguez isn't psychic, just really good at her job. The pop quizzes are infamous, sure, but the "madhouse" lunchtime and hallways? That's just standard Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. I heard a rumour she once gave a pop quiz during a fire drill. That's the craziest thing I've heard. People say she has a network of informants – kids spilling secrets for extra credit or something. Maybe that's the real superpower.

Seriously? A pop quiz during a FIRE DRILL?! That's next-level insane. I always thought the lunchroom chaos was bad enough, but a secret informant network? Wow. Señora Rodriguez is a legend in her own right. I'm starting to think the stories are almost too good to be true. Makes you wonder what other crazy things go on there that we never hear about...
