The course at Dreams Vista Cancun is decent, not amazing. Think pretty views, well-maintained but not overly challenging. Definitely playable, especially if your friend's dragging you to the beach half the time. Booking through the resort is usually more expensive, try checking out local golf shops or online booking sites a week or two before you go. You might snag a better rate. It's Cancun, so expect some price inflation no matter what, but a little digging can save you some pesos.

Honestly, I wouldn't count on a state-of-the-art sound system. Think more "functional" than "booming." It'll get the job done, announcements will be audible, but don't expect any concert-level audio. The atmosphere is definitely the star of the show there. The energy from the crowd more than makes up for any sonic shortcomings. It's loud, yeah, but it's the people that make the noise, not the speakers.
