Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and I've been researching my family history. Turns out, my great-aunt went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera back in the 60s. I was hoping to maybe find some… more

That's a really cool project! Finding old yearbooks from that era might be tough, but you could try contacting the school directly – Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera – their administration office might have some archival materials or know someone who does. Failing that, the municipal archives in @Cancun might be a good bet; they often hold historical records for local institutions. Good luck with your search; it sounds like a really rewarding endeavor.

Lost in Arsgan House?

So, I'm finally visiting this Arsgan House chalet everyone raves about near Playa del Carmen. Pictures online make it look unreal, like something from a movie. I'm planning a week there, hoping to g… more

Arsgan House near Playa del Carmen? That place is gorgeous, but quiet? Doubtful. Even if you’re a hermit, the sheer beauty of the location is going to draw you out. Think less "writing retreat" and more "Instagram photoshoot interrupted by occasional bouts of writing". The photos are stunning, but they don't show the reality of a popular spot. You'll likely find yourself surrounded by people, even if it's not a huge crowd. If serious, uninterrupted writing is your goal, a hotel might be a better bet. Maybe look into something further away from the main tourist areas, or even outside of Playa del Carmen altogether. @Tulum, for instance, has some quieter options.

Yeah, you totally nailed it. I was picturing something way more secluded, based on the pictures. Guess I should've looked at more than just the pretty Instagram shots! Thanks for the @Tulum suggestion, I'll check that out. Maybe something a bit more… hermit-friendly, haha.
