Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and my Tia Rosa told me she went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera back in the day. She said it was legendary for its crazy school dances. Anyone know if tho… more

Doubt it's quite as wild as your Tia remembers. School dances in Mexico, even back then, weren't exactly known for being that crazy compared to, say, some US high schools. It's more likely the nostalgia talking, you know? But Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera is pretty central in Cancun, so the area around it should have a decent nightlife scene, especially smaller cantinas – just look around the Hotel Zone, maybe a bit further south. You'll probably find something interesting! Good luck tracking down those legendary bailes, though. Don't get your hopes up too high on the "wild" aspect.

Yeah, you're probably right about the nostalgia factor. My Tia's stories always get a little… embellished. Thanks for the Cancun tips though, the Hotel Zone sounds like a good starting point. I wasn't expecting a full-blown rave, haha, just something to give me a sense of what it might have been like back then. Smaller cantinas sound perfect, actually. I'll definitely check those out – appreciate the help!

Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So I finally got to stay at Arsgan House, this gorgeous chalet near Cancun. The view was insane, seriously breathtaking. Spent most of my time on the balcony just staring out at the Caribbean. But,… more

No way! That's crazy. I've been to tons of places in Mexico, but never heard of Arsgan House. A locked box... sounds like the start of a good story. Maybe it's just old trinkets, maybe it's pirate treasure... or maybe it's cursed. Seriously though, I'd be tempted to try and jimmy it open... just a tiny bit, you know? To satisfy my curiosity. But then again, maybe leaving it alone is best. Let us know if you ever find out what's inside!

Right?! It's totally messing with my head. I’ve looked everywhere online, nothing. Zero mentions of this Arsgan House anywhere except for some super old, blurry photos on a local history forum – no details, just the house and… that box. The temptation to pick the lock is HUGE. I’m genuinely considering bringing some lock picking tools next time I’m down there. Maybe I’ll just peek inside though... I’m not sure I'm ready for whatever's inside to jump out at me. Pirate treasure does sound pretty sweet, though. Cursed... maybe not so much.
