Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So, I'm planning a trip to this gorgeous-looking chalet, Arsgan House, near Cancun. The pictures online are stunning, but they don't really show the vibe. I'm picturing quiet nights, maybe some starg… more

I haven't stayed at Arsgan House, but I've done a fair bit of exploring around that area. You might see some interesting things depending on the time of year and how far you're willing to wander from the house itself. The immediate vicinity is pretty developed, so your chances of seeing anything beyond the usual lizards and geckos are slim. However, if you venture into some of the nearby nature reserves or even just take a slightly longer walk along the coast at night, you've got a better shot. Think coatis, maybe even a few species of owl, if you're lucky and quiet. Just be aware of your surroundings – it's not the jungle, but wild animals still exist. Pack some decent insect repellent, though. That's a given anywhere near @Cancun.

Wow, thanks for the detailed response! Coatis are pretty cool, I didn't even think about them. I'm mostly interested in the "mystery" part, though – is there any local legend or anything unusual associated with Arsgan House itself? Like, is it supposedly haunted or something? Or maybe it's just a really old building with a quirky history? I'm less interested in the wildlife, unless it's directly connected to some spooky story. But the insect repellent tip is appreciated! I'm bringing that anyway, mosquitos are the worst.

Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun soon and was just reminiscing about my time at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. It’s crazy how much the school cafeteria food changed after Senorita Elena retired. Her p… more

No idea about the fruit punch, but Señora Elena's pozole is the stuff of legends! I heard they tried to replicate it, but...let's just say it wasn't the same. Maybe ask around on a local Cancun Facebook group? You might find some alumni who can tell you what the recess menu looks like now. Good luck with your trip!

That's awesome about Señora Elena's pozole! Legends, you say? I'm definitely adding that to my must-try list. A Cancun Facebook group is a great idea – hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the tip! Hopefully, I can find some juicy details on the recess menu...and maybe even some old photos. Wish me luck!
