Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

So, I'm planning a trip to Mexico and will be near Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. My great-aunt went to school there back in the 60s – she always talks about the amazing school lunches. Appa… more

Wow, that's a cool story! Your great-aunt's memories sound amazing. Unfortunately, nailing down the exact cafeteria menu from Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera in the 60s is probably impossible. School lunch menus aren't exactly historical records meticulously kept for posterity. But think about it this way... what kind of dishes were probably popular in Mexican school cafeterias back then? Think simple, hearty, and probably using readily available ingredients. You're likely looking at things like frijoles, rice, maybe some basic stews with chicken or beef, and possibly some regional specialties depending on what's grown locally around @Cancun. Your best bet for a culinary throwback might not be a direct replica of the school lunches, but hunting down fondas or smaller, family-run restaurants in the area. They often serve traditional, home-style cooking that would probably be closest to what your great-aunt remembers. Ask around – locals will know the best spots for authentic, old-school Mexican food. Good luck on your search! I bet you find something delicious.

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

Yeah, I've been to a few games there. The energy is insane, you're totally right about that. But the sound system… oof. It's consistently a bit of a let-down. They crank the volume, but it's all just a blurry mess. Think it's probably a budget thing, sadly. They should really invest in an upgrade; it would make a world of difference. Such a shame, because everything else about the experience is top-notch.
