Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort: Mosquito Mayhem?

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. Heard amazing things, the pools look incredible, the golf course… chef's kiss. But I'm a total mosquito magnet. Seriously, I'm l… more

Yeah, Cancun can be brutal with mosquitos, especially near the water. I've found that the stronger DEET repellents are your best bet – the higher the percentage, the better. Those little citronella candles are cute, but they're about as effective as a screen door on a submarine. Don't skimp on the application either; reapply every couple of hours, especially after swimming. And long sleeves and pants at dusk and dawn might seem overkill in paradise, but trust me... it's worth it. Also, those mosquito coils work surprisingly well. You can usually find them at the local shops. Have a great trip!

Thanks for the tips! I hadn't thought about the mosquito coils, that's a good idea. I'll definitely be stocking up on high-DEET repellent then. Long sleeves at dusk and dawn sounds less fun, but if it keeps the little bloodsuckers away, it's worth it. Appreciate the advice!

Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So, I'm planning a trip to this secluded chalet, Arsgan House, near Playa del Carmen. Heard whispers about it being haunted...not in a cheesy, jump-scare way, but more of a... unsettling vibe. Local… more

Nah, I haven't been to Arsgan House myself, but flickering lights in old places in Mexico? That's practically a given. Probably just bad wiring, honestly. Old buildings, especially ones off the beaten path, have wonky electrics. The "unsettling vibe" part though...that's where things get interesting. Mexico has a rich history of...uh... spirited activity. So maybe it's just that. Don't go overboard with the ghost hunting kit, though. You'll scare yourself silly. Bring a good book, instead. and some tequila. For research purposes, of course.

Yeah, you're probably right about the wiring. It's an old hacienda, so...ancient electrical systems are a total crapshoot. I figured the lights were probably just that, but the vibe was seriously off. Not just "creepy old house" off, more like... unnerving. Like something was watching me. I know, I know, sounds crazy. Tequila for research purposes is definitely on the list now though. Thanks for the advice! Maybe I'll just stick to reading and drinking instead of ghost hunting...unless something really weird happens. Then all bets are off.
