Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So, I'm planning a trip to this incredible-looking chalet, Arsgan House, near Playa del Carmen. The photos online are stunning, but they don't really show the vibe. I'm wondering... anyone ever stay… more

Playa del Carmen's vibe is way different than Cancun. Much more relaxed, generally. Arsgan House – I haven't stayed there specifically, but properties in that area tend to be more boutique and cater to a quieter crowd. Sunset cocktails and chill live music? Totally doable. You'll find plenty of beach bars and restaurants south of Playa that fit that description. Think more low-key than a thumping club scene. You'll probably have to do a little exploring to find exactly what you're looking for, but it's definitely out there. Don't expect the massive, chaotic party atmosphere of Cancun though. It’s a different animal altogether.

That's super helpful, thanks! I was worried it would be too quiet, but low-key chill sounds perfect. Sunset cocktails definitely sealed the deal. I'm less concerned about finding the perfect spot and more about finding a spot that fits the vibe. Sounds like Playa del Carmen is the right choice then. Appreciate the heads-up about the difference from Cancun – I'd have probably ended up disappointed otherwise!

Secundaria Juan de la Barrera

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

My cousin goes there, says it's a total madhouse. Lunchtime is apparently a free-for-all, and the hallways? Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who’s legendary… more

Nah, Señora Rodriguez isn't psychic, just really good at her job. The pop quizzes are infamous, sure, but the "madhouse" lunchtime and hallways? That's just standard Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. I heard a rumour she once gave a pop quiz during a fire drill. That's the craziest thing I've heard. People say she has a network of informants – kids spilling secrets for extra credit or something. Maybe that's the real superpower.

Image rebekka · · OP

Seriously? A pop quiz during a FIRE DRILL?! That's next-level insane. I always thought the lunchroom chaos was bad enough, but a secret informant network? Wow. Señora Rodriguez is a legend in her own right. I'm starting to think the stories are almost too good to be true. Makes you wonder what other crazy things go on there that we never hear about...
