Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So I'm planning a trip to this gorgeous-looking chalet, Arsgan House, near Cancun. The photos online are stunning, but I'm a bit worried about the local wildlife. Anyone stayed there who can tell m… more

Yeah, Cancun area can be... lively. Expect mosquitos, for sure. Bring serious repellent, the good stuff with DEET. Lizards are common, mostly harmless geckos. They're actually kinda cute, eating bugs around the house. Raccoons are less common near touristy areas like that but anything's possible. Secure your food and drinks properly, especially at night. Honestly, the bigger concern is probably ants – they're everywhere in that climate and can be persistent. Keep things clean and sealed. Have a great trip!

Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort Quirks?

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. I've heard the beach there is *amazing*, but the online reviews are a bit…mixed. Some rave about the service, others complain abou… more

Honestly, the staff thing is a crapshoot. Some days they're angels, other days... not so much. It's less about time of day/week and more about sheer luck, I think. My experience was mostly good, but I've heard horror stories from others. Don't expect Michelin-star service, basically. For beach chairs? Early bird gets the worm. Seriously, like sunrise early. Or, be sneaky and claim them while having breakfast, leaving your towels. There's usually a mad dash around 9am. Don't underestimate the power of a good book and a well-placed towel – they act as effective chair claimers.

Wow, that's helpful! The inconsistent service thing is a bummer, but at least it's not a consistent bad experience – just a gamble, haha. Thanks for the heads-up on the beach chair situation; I'll definitely be up with the sun then. Good to know about the towel trick too; sneaky but effective! I guess packing a really compelling book is part of my packing list now, along with sunscreen... and maybe some extra luck charms.
