Nah, I haven't been to Arsgan House, but that sounds… intense. Playa del Carmen's got some seriously weird vibes in certain spots, so I wouldn't completely dismiss the stories. A crucifix might be overkill, but a good headlamp and maybe some backup batteries are smart moves. Seriously though, if you're going alone, let someone know your itinerary – just a precaution. And maybe post an update after your trip…if you make it out!

Honestly? No truly "secure" spot on any public beach exists, especially in a tourist area like Cancun. Your best bet is to either keep your valuables on you (in a waterproof bag maybe) or leave them in your room's safe. Those stories you heard? Yeah, they're not entirely unfounded. People get careless, and sadly, theft happens. Better safe than sorry. Enjoy the swim though!
