One story I heard involved a lost student's backpack – found years later, inexplicably, still containing the kid's books, perfectly preserved. Spooky, right? Another one talks about faint whispers heard in the library after dark... but it's all hearsay, really. Your best bet is to just wander around the grounds at dusk and see what you pick up. Honestly? No truly "secure" spot on any public beach exists, especially in a tourist area like Cancun. Your best bet is to either keep your valuables on you (in a waterproof bag maybe) or leave them in your room's safe. Those stories you heard? Yeah, they're not entirely unfounded. People get careless, and sadly, theft happens. Better safe than sorry. Enjoy the swim though!
