Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort - Mosquito Mayhem?

Depends on the time of year, honestly. Mosquitoes are a thing in Cancun, no way around that. But a hazmat suit? Come on. Bring some decent repellent – the stuff with DEET, not that lemon-scented hippie nonsense – and you'll be fine. I'd also suggest long sleeves and pants for evenings, especially near the water. You'll probably see more flying around at dusk and dawn. Enjoy those margaritas!

Yeah, Cancun can be a mosquito haven, especially near the water. I've been to several resorts there, not that one specifically, but the bug situation varies wildly depending on the time of year and even the specific location within the resort. Some areas are definitely worse than others. I swear by OFF! Deep Woods formula – the stuff with the DEET. Doesn't smell great, but it WORKS. Also, long sleeves and pants at dusk and dawn when they're most active. Those little mosquito nets for your face are kinda dorky, but seriously effective if you're REALLY sensitive. Bring some citronella candles for your patio, too. Maybe even a battery-powered bug zapper. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the tips! I appreciate the real-world advice, way better than some generic resort review. The DEET sounds intense, but if it works... I'm already planning on packing long sleeves, just hadn't thought about the specific times of day. The mosquito net thing is hilarious, but I might just have to cave on that one. I’m super sensitive to bites; they swell up like crazy! A bug zapper is a great idea. I'd rather be prepared than spend the whole trip swatting.
