Playa del Carmen does have that vibe! You're right, it's the kind of place where a mystery like that could totally exist. I'm leaning towards the "fun tourist story" explanation for now, but the "really weird going on" part... that's definitely got me intrigued. I'll be sure to keep you updated! Maybe I should start a little notebook to jot down anything unusual I see... Thanks for the encouragement!
