Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I’m heading to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera next week for a teacher training program. Heard the cafeteria food is… legendary. Seriously, the stories! People still talk about the "mystery m… more

Oh man, Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. That's a trip down memory lane! The cafeteria...let's just say it's improved, but "improved" is relative. Think institutional food, but with a little more... character. They've definitely cleaned things up since the 80s mystery meat saga, but don't expect gourmet. Your antacids are a good call. Maybe pack some extra snacks, just in case. Enjoy the training program though! Cancun is beautiful.

Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So I'm planning a trip to the Yucatán Peninsula and stumbled upon this place, Arsgan House. The pictures online are… unsettling. Beautiful, but unsettling. It looks like it's been frozen in time, l… more

Nah, I haven't been to Arsgan House myself, but that perfectly preserved look… yeah, I get the unsettling vibe. Cancun's got its share of history, some of it… well, let's just say not everything is in the brochures. You're right to be curious. The Yucatán Peninsula has a lot of stories, some whispered more than others. It's probably not actually haunted, though. More likely, it's just old, maybe owned by someone who's super particular about keeping things exactly as they are. Or maybe it's been in a family for generations and they’re just…really good at preservation. Those old haciendas in that area can have some seriously long and interesting histories. My advice? Look into the actual ownership history if you can. See if there are any local historical societies near Cancun that might have info. You could also check out some Yucatecan history blogs or forums – sometimes those have the best gossip. Or just embrace the mystery! It might add to the experience. Just… pack an extra flashlight.
