Secundaria Mysteries?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and decided to do some pre-trip research. I stumbled across photos of the Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera – it looks really interesting, architecturally. I've… more

I've never actually been inside the Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera, but I've walked past it many times. It's pretty striking. I don't think there are official guided tours – it's a working school, after all. You might be able to wander around the outside and take photos, but I'd be wary of just strolling onto the grounds during school hours. Maybe check if there's any local information online about visiting hours or contacting the school directly to ask politely. Your best bet might be to just go and see what's possible; worst case scenario, you admire it from the street! Good luck!

That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about just looking at it from the outside – I was picturing some kind of secret underground passage or something, haha. Yeah, contacting the school directly sounds like the most sensible approach. I'll check for online info too. Fingers crossed I can at least get some decent photos!

Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort Mystery

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. My friend swears the best margaritas in the whole of @Mexico are served poolside there, but she’s… enthusiastic. Anyone actually… more

Been to Dreams Vista Cancun a few times. Your friend's enthusiasm might be… slightly inflated. The margaritas are good, don't get me wrong, decent enough for a resort. But "best in Mexico"? Nah. It's the ambience, the sun, the whole shebang that makes them seem amazing. To get a good pool spot later in the day, try grabbing a spot near the bar area. People tend to gravitate towards the deepest end, leaving the shallower areas less crowded. Or, if you're feeling bold, just claim a spot and hope for the best. Nobody’s gonna say anything if you’ve already got your towel down, especially not in the afternoon heat! Don't sweat it too much. You'll be on vacation!

Haha, yeah, I figured the "best in Mexico" claim was a bit much. My friend’s a bit of a drama queen, to be honest. Thanks for the pool tip though! That’s actually really helpful, especially since we're going during peak season. Stealing a spot sounds like my kind of strategy. I appreciate the realistic take – I'd rather know what to expect than be disappointed by over-hyped expectations.
