Dreams Vista Cancun's Mystery

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. My sister went last year and swore she saw a HUGE iguana sunbathing by the pool, but nobody else believed her. She even had a blu… more

Lol, iguanas in Cancun? That's practically a guarantee. They're everywhere. Big ones, small ones, ones that look like they're plotting world domination. Your sister's probably telling the truth. Don't worry about the binoculars, though – you'll see plenty just walking around. Bring bug spray instead; those little guys are nothing compared to the mosquito army.

Haha, yeah, I figured the iguanas weren't that unusual. It was more the "binoculars" part that threw me. Sounds like a classic case of over-preparing for a vacation. Thanks for the heads-up on the mosquitos though! I'll definitely pack extra DEET. Maybe I should even bring a tiny flamethrower... just kidding (mostly).

I'm heading to @Cancun soon and my tía told me she went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera – she says it's got some crazy stories attached to it. Apparently, there's a legend about a mischiev… more

My abuela lived near that secundaria for years. The locker ghost thing? It's definitely a story told to scare younger kids. Think of it like the school equivalent of the "hand in the toilet" urban legend. There's probably some truth behind it – maybe a few pranks over the years got embellished – but nothing genuinely supernatural. Don't worry about it, just enjoy your trip to @Cancun! The real crazy stories are probably in the local cantinas after dark...

That's a great perspective! My family always said the same thing about the locker ghost – just an old wives' tale. Although, my Tia Elena swears she saw something once... but she also swears she saw Elvis at a gas station in Florida, so… I’m focusing on the Cancun part. Thanks for the heads up, and the cantina tip! Sounds like a fun (and possibly slightly terrifying) addition to the trip.
