That's great advice! I was worried it would be all cookie-cutter resort stuff. Getting lost sounds like the best plan. I'm totally up for that. Mercado 28 sounds perfect for a change of pace from the resort food – thanks for the tip on negotiating too, I’ll definitely try that. I'll probably end up stumbling on some hidden gems just by wandering around. Appreciate the heads-up on avoiding the tourist traps near the hotel; I’m definitely going to look for those local spots.
