Estadio Quintana Roo's Acoustics?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

So I'm heading to @Cancun next month and snagged tickets to a baseball game at Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Heard the atmosphere is crazy, but I’m curious – how good is the sound system? M… more

Honestly, stadium acoustics in Latin America can be...a mixed bag. I've been to games in several places, and it's often a crapshoot. Crowd noise is always going to be a factor, especially in a place known for its lively atmosphere like Estadio Quintana Roo. Your friend's experience isn't unusual, unfortunately. I'd suggest contacting the stadium directly – their website might have info, or you could try emailing or calling. Failing that, check recent reviews on Google Maps or something; sometimes people mention sound quality in their reviews. That’s your best bet for getting an up-to-date take on things. Good luck getting your grandpa sorted for the game!

Thanks! That's really helpful. Yeah, the mixed bag thing totally makes sense. I figured it was a bit of a gamble, but my grandpa's hearing isn't great, so I wanted to try and get a clearer picture before buying the tickets. I'll definitely try contacting the stadium directly – hadn't thought of that. And checking Google Maps reviews is a smart idea too, I'll do that right away. Appreciate the advice!

Estadio's Sound System?

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and plan on catching a game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. I've heard the atmosphere is electric, but I'm curious about the sound system. Does it hold… more

Can't speak to the exact quality of the sound system at Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo, but I've been to several games in smaller stadiums in Mexico and the sound is usually pretty good, even if the crowds are wild. It's rarely crystal clear, more like a roaring wave of sound. Think less "concert quality" and more "massive, slightly muddy roar". It’s part of the experience, honestly. If your main concern is clear audio for announcements or something, you might want to check with the stadium directly or maybe even look at bringing earplugs if you're sensitive to loud noises. Charging your phone at a game? Genius! Never thought of that.

That's actually really helpful, thanks! The "roaring wave of sound" description is perfect – I was picturing something way more pristine. Earplugs are a great idea, hadn't considered that. And yeah, charging my phone is a must, especially since I'll probably be taking tons of photos and videos. I'm less worried about announcements and more about the overall atmosphere, so your description makes me even more excited!
