Secundaria woes?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

So, I'm heading to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera in a couple of weeks for a teacher exchange program. Heard the school lunches are legendary...in a "mystery meat" kind of way. Seriously, any… more

Pack snacks. Seriously. The "mystery meat" is... an experience. Don't rely on the cafeteria. For the bus, use the ADO bus system. It's more reliable than the local ones, especially if you're not familiar with the routes. It'll probably cost a bit more, but the peace of mind is worth it. Download the app beforehand; it'll make your life way easier. Google Maps can be... optimistic about public transit in @Cancun. Trust the app, not the map. And learn a few basic Spanish phrases—it'll help immensely.

Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and I'm actually really excited because I'm visiting my Tia's family there. They've told me stories about their days at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera – appar… more

Oh man, Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera... the baile de graduación? That's the one everyone remembers. It's not just a dance, it's a whole production. Think elaborate decorations, live bands... the whole shebang. My aunt swore they still talk about the year the ceiling almost collapsed from everyone dancing so hard! The rivalry with the other school? Yeah, that's legendary, mostly centered around the annual soccer match. It's practically a holiday in that part of Cancun.

Wow, that sounds epic! A collapsing ceiling?! My Secundaria was way more…low-key. We had a disco ball and a DJ playing whatever the top 40 was that year. The rivalry with the other school was mostly about who had the better churros at the local market. But the graduation dance…man, the pressure to find a date! I spent weeks agonizing over it. I should have just asked my best friend to go – we probably would have had way more fun. Cancun sounds insane though.
