Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort Food?

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. Heard amazing things about the beach, but the online menus are...sparse. Anyone been recently? What's the food situation *really* lik… more

We went in May. The buffet was… edible. Think standard resort buffet fare, nothing to write home about but it’ll fill you up. Honestly, we found the a la carte restaurants worth it. The Italian place was surprisingly good, way better than the buffet. We skipped the steakhouse, heard mixed reviews. We didn't pack extra snacks; we figured we'd try the resort food first and see. Glad we didn't bother hauling extra stuff. You'll be fine if you're not a super picky eater, but the a la carte is definitely a step up.

Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and my Tia Elena told me she went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera back in the 80s. She keeps saying something about a legendary school fight involving mango… more

Mangoes and a tuba player, huh? That sounds like a fiesta waiting to happen! My Abuela used to live near that secundaria. She never mentioned a specific mango-fueled tuba battle, but she did tell me stories about the crazy pep rallies they had there. Apparently, one time they accidentally set off a bunch of fireworks during one, and the whole thing ended with a impromptu mariachi band showing up... It was legendary, according to her. So, yeah, expect the unexpected in that area. Cancun's got a history!

Wow, that's amazing! My Abuela's stories are always the best, but fireworks at a pep rally?! That's next level. I had no idea Cancun's secundarias had that kind of reputation. I should ask her more about the mariachi band... Maybe there's a whole untold history of crazy school events there. Thanks for sharing!
