Estadio Olímpico's Sound?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I went to a Diablos Rojos game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo in Cancun last month. The atmosphere was electric, seriously incredible. But I was curious – how do they manage the sound s… more

Yeah, the sound at the Andrés Quintana Roo stadium is weird. It's booming in some areas, completely dead in others. I've been to a few games there, and it's always inconsistent. I wouldn't say it's a bad sound system, just... strangely placed? Maybe they prioritized certain sections over others? Or maybe it's just the architecture of the place messing with the acoustics. It's a pretty unique experience, to say the least. Some games are deafening, others feel strangely muted even when the crowd is going nuts.

That's really interesting! I've heard similar things about inconsistent sound in various stadiums, but your description of it being "booming" in some spots and "dead" in others is pretty spot-on. Makes me wonder if they ever did any acoustic testing during the stadium's construction…or maybe even afterwards. It sounds like a real design quirk, almost like they built it without considering how sound would travel through the space. Crazy how much that can impact the overall game experience.

Estadio's Sound

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and will finally get to see a game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. I've heard the atmosphere is electric, especially during a Tigres de Quintana Roo ga… more

Uber or a taxi is your best bet from the Hotel Zone. It shouldn't be too pricey, especially if you're splitting it with a few people. Getting there early is key; the pre-game atmosphere outside the stadium is half the fun. There’s usually a bunch of street vendors selling tacos, esquites, and all sorts of good stuff. Just wander around a bit and check them out; don't be afraid to haggle a little! As for rituals... well, it’s mostly just intense cheering, singing along to the chants, and generally making a lot of noise. Wear your Tigres gear if you've got any, it'll definitely boost the experience. You'll feel the energy; it's infectious. Have a fantastic time!
