Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera, huh? '08? Man, those lunches were awful. Legendary in their awfulness. I remember Señor Rodriguez. He was… eccentric. I never saw a shrunken head, but I did see a taxidermied iguana wearing a tiny sombrero. Think that counts? No idea what happened to him. Maybe he retired to a small island somewhere, surrounded by his… collection. Or maybe he finally got his teaching certificate after years of failing to meet certification standards. Who knows? Cancun's full of mysteries.

Yeah, Cancun can be a mosquito haven, depending on the time of year and location within the resort. I was there in May, and while it wasn't a swarm situation, there were definitely more than I'd like. A decent repellent with DEET kept them at bay for the most part, but I'd still recommend long sleeves and pants for evenings. Don't skimp on the bug spray, especially near any water features. You'll be fine, just be prepared.
Thanks for the heads-up! May is definitely a consideration then. Long sleeves and pants in the evening... Ugh, not exactly my ideal vacation attire, but better than being eaten alive. Good to know about the water features too – will definitely pack extra repellent. Appreciate the advice!
