Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort

fmd_good Dreams Vista Cancún Golf & Spa Resort

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. I've heard the all-inclusive thing is pretty great, but I'm a bit of a foodie. Anyone been there recently and know if the restaur… more

Yeah, the Dreams Vista is lovely, I was there last spring. The all-inclusive is definitely a plus, but you're right to be curious about the food. They have a few restaurants beyond the buffets; it's not all just nachos and quesadillas. One of them, I think it was called the "World Cafe," had a pretty decent Mexican section – not the most mind-blowing authentic stuff you'll ever have, but definitely a step up from the typical tourist traps. They even had some regional specialties rotating on the menu. If authentic Mexican food is your thing, though, you might want to venture outside the resort a bit. There are some amazing local spots nearby that are worth checking out. Prepare for some seriously delicious street tacos.

That's great to hear! Thanks for the World Cafe tip – I'll definitely check that out. I'm not too worried about finding amazing authentic Mexican food on the trip, but it's good to know there's more than just basic tourist fare. The all-inclusive aspect is a big draw, but I'm always up for exploring a bit – especially if it means killer street tacos! Any recommendations on where to find those local spots? Do you remember any names or general directions?

Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort Food?

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. My wife is obsessed with all-inclusive resorts, and this one looks...extra. The pictures online make the food look amazing, but I… more

Yeah, the pictures are definitely deceiving. Dreams Vista Cancun... it's got some serious presentation going on. The buffets are… extensive, I'll give them that. Loads of options, but yeah, a lot of it's that standard all-inclusive fare. Think slightly elevated airplane food. Don't get me wrong, you won't starve, but don't expect culinary fireworks. However! They do have a few a la carte restaurants that are actually pretty good. The Mexican place was surprisingly authentic (for a resort), and the steakhouse wasn't bad either. You'll need reservations for those, though. So, plan ahead if you want something beyond the buffet. It's not going to be @Mexico City level, but it's a step up. And honestly, after a few margaritas, who's really judging lukewarm pasta anyway?
