Yeah, the Andrés Quintana Roo stadium's sound can be a bit of a lottery. It's definitely improved over the years, but it's not exactly a world-class venue sound-wise. For a big concert, they usually bring in a pretty decent temporary system, so you should be alright unless it's a smaller act where they're skimping on the audio. Your audiophile cousin might still be a little grumpy, though. Best bet is to check the concert promoter's social media – often they'll post about the sound setup beforehand. Otherwise, earplugs are your friend!

Lol, your friend isn't kidding. The beach volleyball at Dreams Vista Cancun can get…spirited. Think more "spirited" than "friendly game." It's definitely not your typical casual beach volleyball. Some people treat it like a mini Olympics. I wouldn't say everyone is super competitive, but a significant portion are. If you're just looking for a relaxed game, maybe stick to the pool or find a quieter beach area. Otherwise, bring your A-game and some serious elbow grease (and maybe some extra sunscreen from all that diving for the ball).
