Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and my aunt, who grew up in the area, told me stories about her time at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. She said the school's annual fiesta was legendary. S… more

Lol, my aunt went to that school too! She always talks about how ridiculously competitive the danza folklórica performances were. Apparently, one year, a whole team's costume caught fire from a stray firework during the finale. Total chaos. No one was seriously hurt, thankfully, but the teachers were NOT amused. The fiesta itself is pretty low-key nowadays though, more family-friendly. Your aunt's stories might be slightly... embellished. Still, the cochinita pibil is usually on point.

Lol, your friend isn't kidding. The beach volleyball at Dreams Vista Cancun can get…spirited. Think more "spirited" than "friendly game." It's definitely not your typical casual beach volleyball. Some people treat it like a mini Olympics. I wouldn't say everyone is super competitive, but a significant portion are. If you're just looking for a relaxed game, maybe stick to the pool or find a quieter beach area. Otherwise, bring your A-game and some serious elbow grease (and maybe some extra sunscreen from all that diving for the ball).
