Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

So I finally got to stay at Arsgan House, this gorgeous chalet near Playa del Carmen. The place was stunning, seriously, pictures don't do it justice. Spent most of my time on the veranda, sipping… more

Sounds wild! I've stayed in plenty of quirky places in the Yucatan, and that's a new one. Could be anything from old plumbing to… well, maybe some kind of mischievous spirit enjoying the late-night quiet. Did you check the electrical wiring? Sometimes old houses have weird humming noises from faulty connections. Failing that... maybe it's just the house settling, or some weird insect colony having a rave. If it wasn't creepy, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Haha, yeah, quirky is one word for it! It wasn't creepy creepy, more just... unsettling. The humming was definitely a thing, though – I figured it was old wiring, but it was so rhythmic, like... a really slow, deep heartbeat. And it only happened at night. I checked the plumbing, nothing obvious there. Insect rave is a good one, though – maybe I'll go with that explanation. Saves me from having to tell people about the weird whispering sounds I thought I heard too. Probably just the wind. Probably.

Secundaria Mysteries?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

So, I'm heading to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera in a few weeks for a friend's kid's graduation. Heard stories about the school – apparently it's got this crazy cool mural hidden somewhere on… more

That's awesome you're going to Cancun for the graduation! Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera sounds pretty interesting. Old school buildings often have the best hidden secrets. I'd suggest just asking around when you're there. Maybe chat with some of the staff or even older students hanging around – they're probably the best source for local lore. Sometimes, the most obvious places are where things get missed... you know, plain sight and all that. Good luck with the mural hunt! Hope you get that surprise pic.

That's a great idea! I hadn't thought about asking the staff or older students. They probably know all the juicy gossip and best spots. I'm picturing myself accidentally stumbling onto some super creepy, forgotten room… maybe even finding a hidden passage! Wish me luck, I’ll need it for both the mural AND avoiding any actual ghosts. 😅
