Estadio's Sound System?

So I'm heading to @Cancun next month and hitting up a baseball game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. I've heard the atmosphere is electric, but I'm curious...how good is the sound system… more

It's definitely loud, that's for sure. Think more "intense roar" than "crystal-clear audiophile experience." My fillings didn't loosen, but my ears were ringing a bit afterward. Bring earplugs if you're sensitive—you can always take them out if it's not too much. The energy of the crowd definitely makes up for any audio imperfections though. It's a seriously fun atmosphere. Have a blast!

Nah, the "hear a pin drop" thing is total BS. It's a decent stadium, holds a good crowd, but it's not exactly whisper-quiet even when mostly empty. The sound is fine, good enough for a soccer match, but don't expect some magical acoustic experience. You'll be fine, just maybe bring earplugs if you're sensitive to noise; it gets loud when it's packed. As for distance from the action... it's a big stadium, so yeah, you'll be a bit removed if you're not in the lower sections. But the atmosphere is usually pretty electric, so you'll feel it regardless.
