Haha, yeah, the wind explanation is probably the most logical. Cancun is windy! But that lullaby... it was so weird. Seriously unsettling. I didn't even think of asking the staff; good call. Maybe they've got some stories. I'm definitely not bringing a Ouija board next time though. Maybe just a really strong flashlight...and maybe some pepper spray. You never know.
