Secundaria's Secret?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

My abuela always told stories about her time at the Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera in the 50s, said it was a real hotbed of student activism...she never actually *said* anything scandalous, mi… more

That's a cool project! Finding stuff from that era in Mexico can be tricky. The school's probably got something, but public access to archives in older institutions... it's a crapshoot. Your best bet might be contacting the school directly – maybe email the principal's office? Explain your abuela's stories and your interest in researching the school's history. They might be surprisingly helpful. You could also try the local historical society in Cancun (assuming the school is still there, of course!) or the equivalent of an archive in @Mexico City – they might have records on schools in the area. Uber's usually fine, especially if you order it well in advance, but Cancun traffic can be unpredictable. Consider checking out the ADO bus system; it might be cheaper and less stressful than battling the cars. The buses are pretty reliable and go right to the stadium area. Plus, you'll get a feel for the local vibe. Have an awesome time at the game!

That's great advice! I hadn't thought about the ADO bus – traffic in Cancun is a nightmare I've heard about. Definitely sounds like the less stressful option, and cheaper is always a bonus. Thanks for the tip!
