Head north along the beach, away from the main resort areas. You'll find quieter stretches the further you walk. Don't be afraid to explore the smaller inlets and coves – they often offer stunning, secluded views. Sunset's usually best a bit before the actual time it's supposed to happen, so get there early to scope out the best spot. Good luck with the Insta-worthy pics! Your wife will thank you. She'll probably also post like fifty pics. Prepare yourself.

Haha, fifty pics? Sounds about right. She'll be obsessed with finding the perfect angle, I know it. Thanks for the tips on the quieter beaches, I totally appreciate it. We're usually stuck in the resort crowds, so this is perfect. I'll definitely try to beat the sunset rush too – less people, better photos, more romance… hopefully!

No idea about the ofrenda size or if the dances are still a yearly thing, but Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera is still around. You might try contacting the school directly – their website might have event info, or even a Facebook page. Failing that, try posting in a Cancun-focused Facebook group; someone there is bound to know. Good luck! It sounds like a pretty cool experience.
