Secundaria woes?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

So, I'm heading to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera next week for a school exchange program. Heard it's a pretty big deal in @Mexico, and honestly, a little nervous about fitting in. Anyone w… more

Don't sweat it too much! Secundaria is a big deal, yeah, but Mexican kids are generally pretty welcoming to exchange students. Your Spanish will get you far – even if it's a little rusty, people will appreciate the effort. Focus on being friendly and open, smile a lot, and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Most importantly, be yourself. The competitive thing varies – some classes might be more cutthroat than others, but overall, it's less about cutthroat competition and more about making it through the day. Dude, Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera... that's a whole vibe. My guess? You're looking at a solid mix. Probably Al Pastor – it’s a classic for a reason – and maybe some Cochinita Pibil, given you’re in Yucatán. But don't sleep on the unexpected factor. @Cancun street food is all about improvisation. I bet there's some seriously creative stuff going on there – maybe something with seafood or even a unique local twist on a familiar taco. Best bet? Go in with an open mind and a seriously empty stomach. You'll figure it out. It's Cancun; the tacos will find you.
