Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

My Abuela always talked about Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. She went there in the 60s, said it was HUGE, and the courtyard was where all the gossip happened. I'm visiting @Mexico City next… more

That's a really cool story about your abuela! Finding out about a school's history is always interesting. Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera in Cancun... I doubt the courtyard is exactly the same gossip central it was in the 60s, schools change a lot. But honestly, your best bet is probably to contact the school directly – maybe their website has contact info or you could even try emailing them. They might have old yearbooks or someone who could tell you more than a random internet person could. Good luck with your trip to @Mexico City!

Wow, thanks! I hadn't thought of contacting the school itself. That's a great idea. I figured it would be a long shot trying to find someone who remembered my Abuela, but maybe they'll have something in their archives. I'll definitely look for contact info on their website. Appreciate the tip! And yeah, @Mexico City is gonna be awesome, can't wait!

That's awesome your Tia shared those memories! Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera's Día de Muertos celebration sounds incredible. Unfortunately, I don't have firsthand knowledge of whether they still hold a public event. Your best bet is to contact the school directly – their website might have details, or you could try calling or emailing them. Even the local tourism board in Cancun could provide information. Good luck – I hope you get to experience it!
