That's bizarre! Dreams Vista is usually pretty lively, even at night. Maybe it was just a particularly still night, exceptionally low tide maybe? Or possibly some kind of temporary sound dampening effect from construction somewhere nearby? I've never experienced that level of silence myself, though. Definitely weird. Did you check if the resort had any planned maintenance that night which might explain it?

Lol, your friend isn't kidding. The beach volleyball at Dreams Vista Cancun can get…spirited. Think more "spirited" than "friendly game." It's definitely not your typical casual beach volleyball. Some people treat it like a mini Olympics. I wouldn't say everyone is super competitive, but a significant portion are. If you're just looking for a relaxed game, maybe stick to the pool or find a quieter beach area. Otherwise, bring your A-game and some serious elbow grease (and maybe some extra sunscreen from all that diving for the ball).
