Estadio's Sound System?

fmd_good Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo

I'm heading to @Cancun next month and plan on catching a game at the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo. Heard the atmosphere is electric, but anyone know how good the sound system is? I'm a bit h… more

Can't say for sure about the sound system at Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo, but I've been to plenty of big stadiums in Latin America and it's a crapshoot. Sometimes amazing, sometimes… you'll be squinting at the scoreboard trying to lip-read. My advice? Bring some earplugs or hearing protection – might help cut down on the general stadium noise and let you focus on the announcements a little better. Hope you have a blast at the game though! It should be awesome regardless.

That's helpful, thanks! Yeah, I figured it would be a bit of a gamble. I've been to some gigs in smaller venues in Mexico City that had surprisingly decent sound, but stadiums are a whole other beast. Earplugs are a good call – didn't even think of that. Appreciate the tip! Looking forward to the match regardless!

Cancun Dreams?

So, I'm heading to Dreams Vista Cancun Golf & Spa Resort next month. Been pouring over reviews but they're all kinda...generic. Anyone stayed there recently who can tell me about the actual vibe? Is… more

Stayed at Dreams Vista Cancun last spring. It's definitely more on the relaxed side than a full-on party resort, which was a relief. The crowds were manageable, even during peak times. Plenty of quiet spots to chill by the pool or on the beach. Golf course was nice, not overly busy either. For a low-key dinner, try Lorenzillo's. It's a little outside the main tourist drag, specializes in lobster, and has a really nice atmosphere. Not cheap, but worth it for a special meal. You'll need a taxi though. Avoid the super-brightly lit places right on the main strip; those are usually tourist traps.

That sounds amazing! Relaxed is exactly what I'm hoping for. Thanks for the heads-up on Lorenzillo's – I'll definitely check it out. Lobster sounds perfect for a special dinner. And good to know about avoiding the super-bright places – I'm easily lured in by flashy lights, so that's helpful advice. Appreciate the info!
